Man On The Moon

Visual identity and related applications for the project ‘’Man on the Moon’’: a meeting with the material of marble and the space of quarries, under Vassilios Bartzokas (Design Ambassador) art direction and ΜΑΡΜΥΚ Illiopoulos support.
We approached the project with the degree of awe and respect that deserves to the marble: the only material that combines the mystique feeling of Greek antiquity with the reality of the new industrial revolution.
Our case study based upon real images - those of the photographers – and developed in a simple, subtractive, minimal way, setting up a modern Doric rhythm. Even typography (Arial) chosen to be modest, clean and time resistant, regardless the use. Within this framework we identified the dipole tile – pixel: piece of the past, piece of the present.
And who the most suitable to match the pieces than the director. So, we imagined Fellini to direct the Star Wars at Epidaurus and we – almost – saw the Starfleet at the dawn of Myrtoan Sea. We simply performed a branding project – launching platform, where from the Greek marble will travel to the universal agora.
